Vide Obscur

Vide Obscur was founded in Cologne by Julian Stetter, electronic music artist and producer, and Jakob Lebsanft, producer and multi-instrumentalist. Although both are well versed in their respective genres and have many well-known names in their production repertoire (C.A.R., Casey Spooner, Dumbo Tracks, Elisa Metz, Henry Lee, Keøma, Lord Folter, Magic Island, to name but a few), they both felt the urge to finally create something more tangible with as few mouse clicks as possible.

The two began recording a bunch of instruments over five days, without the slightest idea of where the music was going. Then, as true producers, they sent the signals through a series of devices, mixed them into soundscapes and arranged songs. The result was an EP called ‘1’, which skillfully blends vocal house loops, progressive rock, grunge, 90s post-rock and even some nuances of indie pop, wave and R’n’B. Sounds exciting? It’s much more!
