Maustetytöt translates as: Spice Girls. However, the two sisters Anna Karjalainen and Kaisa Karjalainen don’t sing about girl power, but about being overwhelmed. Their music has nothing to do with calm, but rather with therapy in the form of an idiosyncratic combination of catchy melodies, hyper-realistic lyrics and laconic performances. Since their debut single in 2019, the Finnish duo has been a staple in the Finnish charts. In 2024, they will finally embark on a major tour across Europe.
