About Pop is the only event for current topics relating to pop culture and pop music in Stuttgart.
About Pop is a festival and platform for a top-class, diverse and curated music program with international, national and local live acts that promotes new trends and talents.
About Pop is a convention and exchange space with and for actors, artists, enthusiasts and fans of pop culture and pop music to discuss and rethink the issues of our time.
About Pop offers space for new theoretical discourses, collective approaches, cultural localizations, economic and social transformations and innovations, codes of youth culture, queer positions, inclusive projects, utopian narratives, social resilience, musical experiments and guilty pleasures.
The pre-sessions are the most important dates to get in the mood for the festival. The various events in the Stuttgart region can include concerts, readings and talks.
Come along and use your About Pop ticket for free entry to the pre-sessions. There will be a box office for all last-minute visitors. Admission with your ticket is always first come, first serve!
At About Night, everything focuses on important topics from night culture and night economy.
It combines club culture, night-time economy and social coexistence and thus provides impetus for a city of the future.
The About Talents program gives you the opportunity to make new contacts and find your way into the industry.
We appeal to young people – whether they are musicians, in management, booking, have their own label, are video directors, PR managers or journalists.
You can apply for the About Talents program with your personal professional vision. Once you have been selected by the jury as a participant in the About Talents program, you can let off steam on site with a free ticket. You will also meet the other Talents at the start and can make your first contacts straight away. Seize the opportunity and apply to find your way into the industry, pursue it further and develop as an artist!

Diese werden am Samstag, den 18. Mai 2024 im Stuttpark und dem benachbarten dasCANN Jugendhaus in Bad Cannstatt stattfinden. Die Abschlussveranstaltung des Dialog zur Zukunft der Populären Kultur, kurz: POPLÄND, findet im Rahmen der About Pop 2024 in Stuttgart statt.
Das Ministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kunst setzt den Kulturdialog 2020 fort und startet 2023 den Dialog zur Zukunft der Populären Kultur und insbesondere der Popmusik in Baden-Württemberg. Nach der Auftaktveranstaltung am 11. Mai 2023 in Mannheim wurde der landesweite, auf ein Jahr angelegten Strategieprozess »POPLÄND« in Freiburg und Reutlingen fortgesetzt. Die Abschlussveranstaltung findet im Rahmen der About Pop 2024 in Stuttgart statt.
Gemeinsam besprechen hierbei Politik, Künstler*innen sowie Expert*innen aus Popmusik, Clubs und anderen Kultureinrichtungen, wie die Richtlinien der Kulturpolitik für den Bereich Popkultur auch in Zukunft erfolgreich fortgeschrieben werden können. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf Popmusik als eine besonderen Stärke des Landes.
»Pop in und aus Baden-Württemberg spielt eine große Rolle. Dank der vielen Bands, Projekte, Labels und Aktiven in dem Bereich, dank der lebendigen Club- und Live-Musik-Szene sind wir POPLÄND. Gemeinsam mit Künstlerinnen und Künstlern diskutieren wir, wie wir der Szene helfen können, wie wir das Segment stärken und wie wir der Popkultur die Anerkennung zuteilwerden lassen, die sie verdient«, sagt Kunststaatssekretär Arne Braun. Er wolle die Leitlinien der Kulturpolitik im Bereich Popkultur erfolgreich fortschreiben. Und Pop – was heißt das überhaupt? Neben Musik ist auch Club-Kultur, Spoken Word oder Film gemeint.
