Florent Josef

Florent Josef’s music is inspired by soul, electro, Caribbean and alternative music. He was born near Paris and grew up surrounded by a family of musicians and in a home of Caribbean music, which together with his West Indian heritage has strongly influenced his music. At the age of just five, Florent began learning to play the drums, which was to be the start of his lifelong love of creating and making music. Music quickly became a valuable outlet for Florent, who had lived with a stutter his entire life, and through music he found an expressive place where words could flow endlessly.

Florent’s music began to blossom while he was studying at business school, meeting other like-minded musicians and collaborating with the help of his trusty computer and 32-key MIDI keyboard to create his forthcoming debut album. Florent Josef’s sound is warming and powerful, shifting seamlessly between pain and nostalgia. A sensitive soul, his music is personal and allows his many artistic facets to shine through as well as his proud Afro-Caribbean heritage. Breaking free from industry and genre expectations, Florent creates what is close to his heart and touches the hearts of others. He creates music that people can relate to and hopes to build new and meaningful connections with others through his music.
