Whispering Sons

Whispering Sons are a Belgian post-punk band and the best proof that this genre has by no means left its best years behind. Inspired and driven by the dynamics of their home city of Brussels, the quintet’s haunting music deals with feelings of alienation.

With their powerful and dark sound, Whispering Sons quickly made a name for themselves in their Belgian homeland and won the most important competition for new music in 2016 with the ‘Humo Rock Rally’. One reason for this is the band’s intense stage presence, which they have perfected at countless concerts throughout Europe. After their debut album ‘Image’ from 2018, their follow-up ‘Several Others’ was released in June 2021 via [PIAS] Recordings, which not only refines the wild, experimental post-punk aesthetic, but takes it to an absolute limit in terms of sound.

The new songs sound like a constant, rigorous urge and desire for more. In the dramatic, dark lyrics, singer Fenne Kuppens explores the central themes of pressure, perfectionism and the personal changes that come with it.
