Sweeping Promises

Lira Mondal roars menacingly into a bright future. Caufield Schnug pounds the drums and manifests the good news in our heads: what the two of them deliver as Sweeping Promises on their second album ‘Good Living Is Coming For You’ is thunderous bedroom punk that takes us deep into the New York underground of the early 2000s.

After their debut album »Hungry For A Way Out«, recorded in 2019, which unintentionally became the soundtrack to a pandemic, Sweeping Promises position themselves between the tough attitude of the Dresden Dolls and the brazenness of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs with their second album. The duo’s dynamism is no accident. Formed by chance in Arkansas ten years ago, they have been rehearsing tirelessly ever since to fuse Mondal’s wild energy on vocals and bass and Schnug’s technical finesse on guitar and drums into an unmistakable sound. Always in DIY style, of course.
