Pop Culture as a Bridge: Music and Cultural Identity in a European Context

Music is Europe’s most universal language – but what does it tell us about our identity? In the unique atmosphere of the Institut Français, we will discuss the power of pop culture to overcome borders.

Together, we will explore how language shapes sound and whether there is a distinctly »European vibe« beyond global algorithms. A special focus will be placed on diversity: how do migration, hybrid scenes and the Francophone diaspora influence the sound of our cities? Together with guests from Stuttgart and Strasbourg, we will examine how music functions as a social connector and what role cultural institutes play as incubators for this vibrant European idea.
