Natalya
Natalya, born in Ukraine, first gained recognition as the vocalist for the death/doom band Endlesshade, whose 2015 debut, Wolf Will Swallow the Sun, received critical acclaim. What sets her vocal performance apart isn’t just technical skill—it’s the raw honesty in her voice.
After relocating to Germany in 2019, she co-founded Machukha in 2021, a Berlin-based band blending post-black metal, dark hardcore, and punk. Singing exclusively in her native language, she channels both personal and collective pain into something visceral and urgent. Machukha’s debut album, Mochari (2024), was praised for its intensity and emotional depth, with performances at international festivals (Core The Festival, Complexity Festival) following suit. Especially during live performances, Natalya’s anguished vocals and her sincere presence on stage leave a lasting impact on the audience.
For Natalya, music is a means of survival. It has kept her from tipping over the edge, and now she wields it as a tool for interpersonal catharsis and connection.
Beyond performing, she was part of the organizational team for Back To Youth, a festival that was becoming the biggest harbor for underground music until Russia’s full-scale invasion halted its growth in 2022. In 2024, she was featured in Integration Diary, a documentary by Vitsche Berlin—a cultural and activist group supporting displaced Ukrainian artists—exploring how musicians navigate identity and creativity in exile.
