Judith van Waterkant
Apart from her academic career in psychology as a lecturer, Judit van Waterkant feels at home in the fields of prevention and »Mental Health«, as well as the music and art scene. She is a freelance psychologist, systemic psychotherapist, DJ, producer, event organiser, actress…: in other words, an artist and cultural worker able to put herself in a variety of perspectives. For many years, she has been active in several collectives and at clubs, such as the Institut für Zukunft, 3000Grad or at Feat. Fem and G-Edit in Leipzig and beyond where she advocates for preservation of club culture, as well as awareness structures necessitated by structual sexism or for boosting the visibility of Flinta DJs, since those are still underrepresented in club lineups (FLINTA = women (german: Frauen), lesbians, inter, nonbinary, trans, and agender people). She does so with all her heart, conviction, and passion. At the end of the day, however, her very favourite thing to do is make music.
