Flawless Issues
With artists such as Levin Goes Lightly, Steintor Herrenchor or Edwin Rosen, a musical 80s wave has formed in Germany, especially in recent months, which extends into every sub-genre, whether synth-pop, new wave or post-punk. The more niche, the better. But what unites them all is a love of nostalgia, retro drum computers and echoing synths – not to mention a penchant for romanticized melancholy.
Flawless Issues from Stuttgart is another band that has secured its place in this bubble in recent months. The newcomer may be a solo artist, but he is no longer unknown in his environment.
The Stuttgart native has now released a total of four singles solo – and the trend is rising, as new music is soon to follow. Luckily, because Flawless’ music is almost made for golden fall days like these and for losing yourself in it a little. Songs like »Alone Tonight« and »Into Your Eyes« (which we also recommend as a starter) balance perfectly between danceable, fast-paced new wave and dreamy synth-pop.
But the fan favorite (at least according to the streaming figures) is the song »Good Vibrations«. It’s funny when you consider that it’s an almost inaudibly distorted cover of the song »Good Vibrations« by The Beach Boys – definitely very convincing in the hyperwave version by Flawless Issues.
