Edwin Rosen

Suddenly it was there, the Neue Neue Deutsche Welle. It was only three years ago that Edwin Rosen decided to write lyrics in German and rely on drum computers and synthesizers. In 2020, »leichter/kälter« appeared on the Internet without any announcement or promotion. Even before his first EP was released, Edwin Rosen had become the pioneer of a new musical movement. His sound combines spherical synthesizers and an unwavering beat – perfected by heartwarming guitar melodies and Edwin’s distinctive voice. Punk, post-punk and new wave define his style, poetry and everyday observations define his lyrics. Growing up in Stuttgart, Edwin’s life consisted of two components: In the evenings he attended sweaty hardcore and pop-punk shows in the local Keller Klub, while during the day he explored his own city and the surrounding area on his skateboard. His father’s record collection did the rest.

In 2023, Edwin Rosen finally catapulted himself back into people’s ears and onto the country’s biggest stages with new songs.
