Dr. Cihan Sinanoğlu
Dr. Cihan Sinanoğlu is a social scientist. Since October 2020, he has been head of the National Monitoring of Discrimination and Racism (NaDiRa) at the DeZim Institute. Before that, he was active as press officer and public relations manager at the Türkische Gemeinde in Deutschland e.V. (an association representing the interests of Germans of Turkish origin and Turkish people living in Germany). Most recently, he has been running the Committee of the Bundeskonferenz der
Migrant*innenorganisationen as managing director. In September 2020, the committee published the »Anti-Rassismus Agenda 2025« (Anti-Racism Agenda 2025) containing recommendations for action to fight right-wing extremism and racism. Dr. Cihan Sinanoğlu did his doctorate at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity in Göttingen. For a research visit, he stayed at the City University of New York, furthermore, he taught at the Eberhard Karl University of Tübingen. He was honoured as »Young Thinker« by the trade journal »Politik & Kommunikation«. In June 2023, Germany’s federal government’s representative for anti-racism, secretary of state Reem Alabali-Radovan, appointed him into the expert’s council for anti-racism. In 2024, senator for labour, social concerns, equality, integration, diversity, and anti-discrimination, Cansel Kızıltepe, appointed him into the expert commission on anti-muslim racism in the state of Berlin.
