Yeastweise

Yeastweise is an indiepunk and ballad band from Stuttgart. They have been playing as a three-piece with Jannik on drums since February 2024.

The songs are very minimalistic, but have a strong catchy character. Barking, screeching, meowing, sweet, warm, loud and soft, their sounds patter down on you in different languages (German, Korean, Japanese, English).

Adorned with experimental wordplay, the lyrics spring from her diaries.

Yeastwise creates simple melodies with the help of two guitars, a bass and electronic sound effects that spring from the Korg synthesizer. In addition, the drums are sometimes soft, sometimes strong, which structures an intense entrance and exit in the song and brings it to the audience.

They prefer not to focus on a clear genre, but on honest expressions and imperfect sound. They like to describe their style like this: »Is this a music or a language we babble.«
